From "Schoeppner Family" by Joann Schoeppner Cummings: Ed and Rose made their home in Harrietsville, OH. Their first home was destroyed in the disastrous flood of 1913. Ed stayed in the house to move the furniture upstairs. The water rose so fast that it was level with the second floor windows when someone got to him with a boat. The flood took most of the homes in the area. After the flood, they built a new home on the hill behind St. Henry's Catholic Church, which the family attended faithfully. All of Ed and Rose's sons were alter boys, as well as grandsons and great grandsons from 1915 to 1979. Ed was a farmer, blacksmith, wheelwright, and in later years worked at the Marietta Concrete Plant in Marietta OH until his retirement.THANKS JUDY ROBINSON for sharing this photo!(Dec 02) - NAU_John's sisters (73 KB)
