The John Tomberlin Cemetery is located about 7 miles south of Abbeville, GA off of Hwy 129. It is the site of the graves of John Tomberlin (1774-1852) and his wife, Elizabeth Andrews; Wright Tomberlin (1817-1880); John Tomberlin (1816-1848); William Tomberlin (1807-1857); and it is probably the site where Thomas Tomberlin (1813-1885) is buried. Lookout Maryland after he made an oath of allegiance to the United States. This document states that John A. Tomberlin signed such an oath and is important in that it contains a physical description.
