Baptismal Records of Apple's Church (Lutheran and reformed) (near Thurmont, Maryland) 1773-1848. The earliest proved date of origin is 1742 at which time "The Monocacy Church" (Lutheran and Reformed) was in existence, and by 1745 had a church building, "two miles from" Graceham, and "one little mile from Michael Reissner's plantation." Of the Lutheran congregation, Pastor David Candler of Conewago (Littlestown) was pastor. The Reformed did not, as yet, have a minister. [R100135]
