Your Rights as a Contributor to the World Family Tree

We want to ensure that all contributors to the World Family Tree are aware of how their family information will be used. That's why we require all contributors to read their rights and responsibilities before they contribute a file.

If you are considering contributing to the World Family Tree, please read the following agreement:

• By contributing your family tree to the World Family Tree Project, you give Genealogy.com your permission to reproduce, compile, and distribute all information in your contributed Family File.
• The World Family Tree volumes are copyrighted; however, our copyright does not limit you from publishing your own family information as you see fit, nor from selling it or giving it to others.
• By contributing your family tree to the World Family Tree Project, you give Genealogy.com the permission to provide your name and mailing address to family history enthusiasts who are interested in contacting you.
• By contributing your family tree to the World Family Tree Project, you agree not to contribute information that infringes on the copyrights of others, invades the privacy of others, or is defamatory or profane in any way.
• Genealogy.com retains the right to edit your family tree before its final publication in the World Family Tree. However, Genealogy.com recognizes the importance of maintaining the integrity of the data in your family tree.
• Contributing your family tree to Genealogy.com does not entitle you to any compensation, monetary or other.
• By contributing your family tree, you are indicating that you have read and accepted these rights and responsibilities.
• Family Tree Maker is a registered trademark of Ancestry.com. The World Family Tree is a trademark of Genealogy.com.
