Updated March 17, 2009

My genealogical journey starts with my father born in Reading in 1911, then to my grandfather William E. Johnson, born in Reading in 1880, building his home on Vine Street while working on the B&M railroad. My great-grandfather Alden S. Johnson was born in Hancock, New Hampshire an lost a limb in the Civil War. Then settled and married Clara Gray in Reading residing there until 1931 and buried in the Laural Hill Cementry in Reading.

Also unfolding an ancestory journey commencing in Reading, Massachusetts with my Grandmother Charlotte Gertrude Parker, born in Reading in 1888, and goes back to an early settler Deacon Thomas Parker who arrived in America in 1633.

My mother Arlene Jennie Abbott, born 1918, in Bethel, Vermont whose ancestors include the Abbott's, Hathorn's, Pitkin's and Brown's in the Vermont Green Mountains surrounding towns of Bethel, Barnard, and Stockbridge. Been told this ancestary journey on the Pitkin's will lead to Connecticut in 1633 when they arrived in America.
