| This Web page is dedicated to all of those very special Abbeys who are so proud of their family heritage, they were willing to take the time and trouble to share information about their lives which made this project a reality. The Abbey individuals who left their homes for life in the New World were undoubtedly courageous. Research through numerous reference books and genealogy software by Alan Roy Abbey, his wife Leah, son David, and daughter Alona, containing ships passenger lists, genealogical registers, and other official records led to the discovery of our early Abbey immigrants. When we first began to research our own family heritage thirty five years ago, about the only thing we had was enthusiasm. We never really knew until we took the first few steps just how much we didn't know about genealogical research. But still, through family interviews and learning as we went along, we managed to trace our side of the Abbey family as far back as 1587. We often wondered how much time we might have saved if only someone had told us many of these things before we started. That's when we decided to bring all this background data together, organize it, and share it with our children, grandchildren and as many family members as we could. Currently, we are searching for information on John Abbe, born about 1587, in West Halton, Lincolnshire County, England. As far as we know, John Abbe never came to America. If anyone can assist us with further information, please feel free to contact us. To better assist you, we have linked our family genealogy report to this web page. |
