I am researching the George Mattox family line. George was born in 1779 and died 1855. His wife's name was Francis, last name unknown b. 1782 d.1855. I am looking for his birth place, and Francis' maiden name. I know that the family eventually settled in Morgan County, Missouri. His son Andrew Jackson b.abo.1819 d.1852 was married to Caroline Porter of North Carolina, but a Sarah and a Sally Ann keep cropping up. I know Sarah and Sally Ann are problably the same person, but now I have another Sarah of another date. Can anyone help me with this? Sarah Porter b.1838 MO dau of Green L.Porter Sarah Ann Porter b.1785 North Carolina m.John Porter Caroline Porter b.1818 North Carolina m. Andrew Jackson Mattox I am not sure where Green L. Porter fits in. I obtained his name from the 1850 census #284. I'm sure they belong but not sure how. George Washington Mattox's second wife's name was Mary Green. Maybe it is as simple as that, but I would like confirmation. |
