Presently I am researching my maternal ancestors: the Beairds of MO and formerly KY, the Austin Dunlap family of OK, IA and NY, and the Betsingers of NY. I have enjoyed writing up biographies of our various ancestral lines for our five children, and have given them booklets on the Beairds, Thatchers, and Shellabargers, as well as my husband's and my autobiographies.
We have not had any reunions except one a number of years ago with the Shellabarger descendants of David S. Shellabarger of Decatur, IL and PA. Our children have started to plan and hold a bi-annual family reunion that is great fun and serves to tighten our family ties and enable the young cousins to be better acquainted with our family members.
