Hello all!
Thanks to the very hard work of one lady, a Lena Louise Jones Lee (who married a distant cousin) I have a very strong family work up in the Abbott line. I've never been able to reach Ms.Lee since she passed this wonderful information on to my Grandmother Toye Phillips-Abbott, but I will be forever grateful! It hooked me forever! Our Abbott history starts with three brothers who started out from Scotland with the last name McNab (my great grandfather James Early Abbott told me of this himself when I was six, and Ms. Lee confirmed it years later) and ended up here in America as an Abbott. James from whom I'm a straight decendant, and his two brothers Thomas and Matthew split up shortly there after. We never knew what happened to Thomas or Matthew. Rumor has it one went to the New England area, the other to Pennsylvania. I have got to know where those two brothers went off to! My wish is to find their parents and prove the McNab legend.

As well as the Abbott line of Virginia and West Virginia, I'm looking into the family of Friend Davidson Arthur of Summersville W.VA, his son, Christopher Columbus Arthur, his son William Sherman Arthur and his son Paul Sherman Arthur born in Gallia County, Ohio. Also the decendants of Paul's sister Mary Jane Arthur-Cook born in 1902 Gallia County Ohio and last residence known, Omaha, NE. Paul Arthur was my mother's father. We've found out a great deal more about Paul in the past year, but he was a hard fellow to find. We live for this kind of stuff though don't we? What would a family tree be, it not for the challenges and (hopefully) a few Black sheep?

After exhausting all of these possiblities I'm trying to find the family of my great grandmother Amanda Virginia Cadle-Phillips who married Joseph Phillips. The Cadle name is intriging to me and though her daughter Toye Mae is still with us she is unsure as to the history of her mother's family. I have found many researchers online with information to the family and will later get their permission to leave a link on this page to them.

I have more info on many of the names listed, but have not permisson at this time to put on line as it is shared info and not my work. Since notes are not always seen on these downloads I give the following people credit for their help and information:
The Abbott Family Line-Mrs. Lena Louise Jones Lee

The Arthur Family Line from Christopher Columbus Arthur and back

The Clark Family Line from Mary Ann Clark-Arthur and back and the siblings of Wm. Sherman Arthur

And a very special thanks to Mr. Calvin Campbell of Huntington, West Virginia, husband of Martha Arthur, my Mother's half sister. Without him, and Martha's memories within him, we might not have been able to find out what happened to Paul Arthur, my Mother's father. His help alone created an entire family out of nothing. Where we had only the name of one man, we now have hundreds. Thank you Calvin, your help will live with me like a gift that is new each day.
