Our family continually grows...the branches of our family tree are spreading wider and becoming more full! Come back often and look at the branches and names that are being added!

I've been busy researching my father's lineage; specifically, the Jesse William ROGERS family; Jesse appears in the 1840 census of Choctaw County, Missippi, and for many years the thread of this portion of the family ended there. Due to immense help from Jerry Rogers, I have been able to trace Jesse's lineage back to John "the Powder Maker" Rogers from the American Revolutionary War. Jesse's wife was Mary G. MIDDLETON, the daughter of John Middleton and wife, Sarah Childress. Mary's grandfather, Captain Holland Middleton, was a Revolutionary War patriot. John Middleton is a direct descendant of Robert Middleton of Charles County, Maryland during the 1700's. Sarah Childress descends from Robert Childress of Anderson County, South Carolina during the 1700's. Our Rogers related families include: BAKER; CHILDRESS; LACKEY; MIDDLETON; ROBERTS; RODGERS; ROUNDTREE/ROWNTREE; SIMMS; SPARKS; and SMITH.

I am also continuing in the research of the John B. EARLE (EARLES/EARLS) family; J.B. was born in Warren County, Tennessee in 1884, and died at Athens, Texas in 1973. He married Willie Mae JONES, daughter of Alexander Alonzo Jones and wife, Sarah Isabella, of TX. John B. Earle is a direct descendant of Gamaliel EARLE. Gamaliel's son, William Earl, was a Captain of the 1st Regiment North Carolina Militia during the American Revolution. Willie Mae is a direct descendant of Theophilus SIMONTON III. Our EARLE related families include: ANDERSON; ASHCRAFT; CHASTAIN (CHASTEEN); COTHRAN (COTHERN, CAWTHERN); CUNNINGHAM; EARL, EARLE, EARLES; EARLS; FARLESS; FLY; GILLENTINE; HENNESSEE; JONES; MALONE; McDANIEL; MOONEYHAM; NEWBY; NUNNALLY (NUNNLEE; NUNLEY); SCOTT; SIMONTON; SMITH; WEBB; and WOOD.

Another family that I have done much research on is the BAKER family. Charles BAKER served as a Light Horseman in the American Revolutionary War at the Battle of King's Mountain and the Battle of Cowpens. His great-great grand-daughter, Mary Lou BAKER married the great-great grand-son of John, the POWDER MAKER, ROGERS. Our BAKER related families include: BARTON; ELMORE; FRANKS; FAULK; GOODWIN; KELTNER; LAMB; and ROGERS.

The LOHRKE family that originated in East Prussia is another focus of ongoing research. The family tale is of six brothers that sailed to America from Germany during the 1870's. Some of the brothers wanted to remain in the eastern U.S.; others wanted to move further west. There are family members in Texas, California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. Our LOHRKE related families include: BLANKENSHIP; DOLGENER; FREEMAN; KLOEMSCH; MONSCHKE; ROY; SAPP; and ZINK.

Additionaly, I am looking into the Edgar August ABBOTT family; Edgar A. was born October 15, 1864 in Virginia. This ABBOTT family had its beginnings in the West Indies; then to Baltimore, Maryland; New York, New York; and follows two sons being put on a train bound for relatives residing in Oakes, North Dakota, in February 1898. Our ABBOTT related families include: ANDERSON; BERG; HAVENER; HOYBAK; KLAPMEIER; MAKER (MAHER) McTYRE; MINOW; and OLSON.

Another branch of our family lineage is the GORMAN/O'GORMAN side, that originated in Northern Ireland in the early 1800's. This branch emmigrated to Ontario, Canada then later to the United States thru Minnesota, to North Dakota, and Montana. Our GORMAN / O'GORMAN related families include: CHAMBERLAIN; CHAMBERS; CLARK; DAU; EDWARDS; FERGUSON; JOHNSON; KINDER; KNUTSON; LIMING; MINEKING; RODGERS; SCHOOLCRAFT; and WINSLOW.

Our WINSLOW branch married into the SCHOOLCRAFT branch. Our Winslow roots originated in Connecticut in the early 1700's. Later, the family migrated to Vermont, to Minnesota, and on to North Dakota and Montana.

And, if you look closely, you will see how our WINSLOW - BAKER and WINSLOW -
