The Abrigo/Werner Family of Garden City, KansasUpdated June 17, 2009 | Marjorie W Abrigo |
I am researching my side of our family (the Werner/Fulton side) and my husband’s side (the Abrigo/Lewis side). The Werner branch came to the US in 1911.Robert Edward Werner (age 17) immigrated here with his brother Albert (age 40) from Buchburg, Schaffhausen, Switzerland.- The Fulton branch came from primarily German and Scotch-Irish lines, the oldest line coming from England to the English colony of Plymouth, Massachusetts on the Mayflower in 1623. The Abrigo branch came to the US in 1862, when Basilio Abrego came from San Bernabe de los Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon in Mexico. He came to fight in the American Civil War against slavery. The Lewis branch came to the US from Wale, Scotland and Ireland. | |
