. ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" SCHLUETER:
[Letter from Charlotte Schlueter Hansen - June 1993]\\
Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Bill Seeman lived in Jasper, MN. Their family was grown and gone from home by time I was thirteen years old, and I spent a month with them on summer vacation. I thought Ruth and Florence were great. Floyd was so good looking and in the service, and Ray was one great man. Very artistic- he could paint and write poetry. I never learned to milk (darned cow wouldn't cooperate, ha], but sure learned how to wash a separator and all those disks. Aunt Lizzie was so patient with me, dumb little town girl. She taught me to crochet.
Uncle Bill was a farmer and Aunt Lizzie a housewife.

AVID HENRY SCHLUETER:
[Letter from Charlotte Schlueter Hansen - June 1993]\\
Dave Schlueter was known as a hard working man, dearly beloved by children and grandchildren. He was known as the "Little Man with a Big Cigar." They lived in Pukwana, SD for twenty-five years, then moved to Pipestone, MN. He taught us to be honest, work hard, and love with all your heart. Elizabeth Schlueter was a lady with a song in her heart. She instilled the love of music in her family. I was afraid when we lose her, that a beautiful voice would be stilled, but we have another one in the family - Donna Schlueter Wenzel (Franklin's daughter). Also her son, Edward, (Charlotte's brother) has gone on and is a conductor of the Mississippi Valley Symphony Orchestra. He teaches orchestra and has been honored twice as being International Conductor at Exeter, England. Mother resides in Yankton Care Center, her brain scan shows she has had six strokes. She will be 87 on July 1, 1993.

David Schlueter was a drayman when they were first married. During the Depression he worked at Stransky Mfg. Company, where they made "Devil Dogs" the alarm that went off if someone tried to steal your car. "Gas Servers" attached to the car to give you more mileage. He worked at a filling station to supplement the income. He moved to Pipestone, MN in 1944, and was a baker for Pan of Gold until he died. Mother Elizabeth was a housewife.

LIZABETH MARGARET STOLL:
[Letter from Charlotte Schlueter Hansen - June 1993]\\
Elizabeth Stoll came to America at age 16 to the Bill Meier family in Kimball, SD. She worked in a cafe for Sabrina Farnsworth to pay off her boat fare. Sabrina was a sister to Clare Farnsworth who married Julia Schlueter. Mother could speak no English and was lonely. Lois Farnsworth (Julia's daughter) took her home to her Grandmother Louise Schlueter. She introduced my parents.

Children of D
AVID SCHLUETER and ELIZABETH STOLL are:
  i.   FRANKLIN WILLIAM5 SCHLUETER, b. April 16, 1925, Pukwana, South Dakota; d. April 12, 1991, University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis, MN; m. LORRAINE FRANCIS BOLLICH, June 3, 1948, Menominee, Nebraska; b. October 15, 1927.
  Notes for FRANKLIN WILLIAM SCHLUETER:
Franklin W. Schlueter graduated from high school in 1943 and entered the U.S. Army, serving as a medical corpsman during WWII.
After his marriage to Lorraine Frances Bollich he graduated from U.S.D. Law School in 1951. Lorraine was a nurse. Then they moved to Minneapolis, MN, for three years, then to Sisseton where he served as Roberts County States Attorney from 1954 to 1959. They moved to Huron, SD where he worked for State Farm Insurance Company until opening his private law practice in 1964. He then served as municipal judge for one term of office during which he received an American Bar Association Award for Most Improved Traffic Court Practices and Procedures during 1966 and 1967.
After his term on the bench he continued his private law practice. He was very active in the Civil Air Patrol and other organizations.
A funeral mass was held on April 17, 1991 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Huron, South Dakota with Father Gerald Thury officiating. His interment was in St. Martin's Cemetery, Huron, SD.

  ii.   CHARLOTTE FREDA SCHLUETER, b. March 22, 1927; m. HARVEY FRANCIS HANSEN, March 1, 1946; b. September 27, 1921.
  Notes for CHARLOTTE FREDA SCHLUETER:
[Letter from Charlotte Schlueter Hansen - June 1993]\\
I was a nurse for 39 years with Yankton Medical Center. Harvey worked for Standard Oil until 1973, then was custodian with the school system for 15 years. He retired in 1986, after two surgeries for prostate cancer. Our daughter, Constance Kaye, was born 7/27/1947. She weighed 2-1/2 lbs. There wasn't all types of help when we had our preemie. I went to work to pay her bills and keep her alive. We lost a son (2 lbs.) who lived for 12 hours and a daughter (2 lbs. 2 ozs.) who lived for 24 hours. David Harvey and Gail Marie May 1, 1949.
Our daughter was sickly until age nine and then decided to grow up "healthy." We thank God for the joy she has given us. She married Marvin L. Huber, Jr. on (2/28/1971). Marvin was born 6/4/1947. He is a school teacher. Connie Kaye went to work as cashier in a truck stop when the children were both in school. She had attended M. Marty College and was a certified O.R. Tech (her choice). She worked shortly in the field but decided she could make more money as a cashier. She dropped her license and is happy in her work. Dawn Christina was born 2/16/1972. She was a gifted child, a beautiful flutist and artistic, could draw anything and did beautiful work. She died of cancer (Lymphoma) on 10/13/1990. She was the light of our lives. Christopher Brent was born on 12/17/1975. He is a senior now in high school. He hasn't reached his potential yet, only keeps grades up so he can play football. He does excel in football, so we're glad he has to keep grades up for that! He is quiet and shy, hasn't gotten over losing his sister, they were very close. She did all his talking for him! Before being put on the respirator she asked that we be good to her little brother. She knew we dearly loved them both. Now he must do his growing up. My prayers are with him. Chris has a beautiful singing voice, but hasn't taken advantage of it yet.

  iii.   EUNICE MAE SCHLUETER, b. November 4, 1934; d. December 4, 1937.
iv.   EDWARD DAVID SCHLUETER, b. October 28, 1937; m. KATHLEEN ELIZABETH MOSS, January 23, 1960.
  Notes for EDWARD DAVID SCHLUETER:
In a letter from his brother, Franklin, in 1966, he said that the law profession lost a good lawyer when he decided to become a horn honker. Edward has studied under Kostilaunitz (sp), has studied at the Conservatory in New York, for awhile in New Mexico at a small college, and was at present employed as an orchestra teacher in Watertown. .

47. JULIA SELENA4 SCHLUETER (LOUISE CHARLOTTE3 BREHM, JUSTUS2, ANTON1) was born October 22, 1897, and died November 24, 1970. She married CLARE DEMYRON FARNSWORTH. He was born November 1, 1893, and died May 1969.

ULIA SELENA SCHLUETER:
[Letter from Charlotte Schlueter Hansen - June 1993]\\

Aunt Julia and Uncle Clare - now there was a pair! There was always fun and laughter in their house. When I got angry at the folks and wanted to run away, I ran halfway across town to Aunt Julie. Ha. When the family all got together she would feed the kids first, not the adults first as all the rest of them did. Uncle Clare would sit on the floor beating a drum while Aunt Julie with an Indian shawl would do the various dances. They also did a great Mexican hat dance and the Hankerchief dance. Uncle Clare with his big sombrero stomping around and Aunt Julie dancing with a flower in her teeth. They were young in heart. Lois was grown and gone as I grew up. DeMyron was my favorite cousin.

Uncle Clare was Sheriff in Pukwana and Aunt Julie was a housewife.
