| I am researching the Acurso and Franzen families. This is what I have so far and I'm hoping to keep adding more. I will update as often as I can, so please check back. If you have any information (diaries, recipes, official documents, etc.) or pictures that could be added, please let me know. I'm more than happy to share what information I have . I have a list of last names in the family tree list and they are too numerous to list all here so here are the main ones. If you would like the origins & meanings of any of the last names, please write me and I will pass the information along. Last name origins & meanings: Acurso Southern Italian (mainly Sicily): variant of Italian Accorso, from a medieval personal name meaning "help", "assistance", often also found in the compound form Bonaccorso "good help". Franzen 1. Dutch, Norwegian, and Danish: patronymic from the personal name Franz. 2. Swedish (Franz'n): from the personal name Franz + 'n, from Latin -enius "descendant". |
