| I am researching my father's family: MILLER, Frank...originally from Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. Came to New York in 1844, and there married Magdalena HOFFMAN (born in Alsace, France). They had three sons; Theodore, Franklin, and Edward. They settled in OHIO--Wyandot, Hardin, and Cuyahoga Counties. Related family names to my MILLER line -- BRUCE (VA and Highland Co,OH) CHANEY (Highland Co, OH) CLINE DEVINE (VA and Fairfield and Wyandot Co, OH) DOUGLAS DUDGEON (Ireland, Knox, Auglaize and Allen Co, OH) ELLIOTT (Knox Co, OH) FAWCETT(Knox Co, OH) HOFFMAN (Alsace France, NY and OH) LONG MARSHALL NEIDIG (PA and Stark and Wyandot Co, OH) PIERCE (Hardin Co, OH) PRICE (PA and Stark and Wyandot Co, OH) TAYLOR (NY and Highland Co,OH) I have also begun researching my mother's family: PHARE, John Bickle...came to Ontario, Canada in 1858 from Devonshire, England with his young son, John Jay PHARE and his second wife, Arabella Pentecoste PHARE. His first wife, Eliza DOIDGE PHARE, and three daughters perished in the shipwreck "John" in 1855 when the ship hit the rocks at Lizard's Point, Cornwall, England. John Bickle PHARE's third wife was Ida (Ljungberg) Atherly. They married in Kansas City, MO and had three more children; Frances, May, and Carl. PHARE, John Jay, was eventually in Missouri, Utah, and then settled in Cleveland, Ohio after marrying Kerna Laurenda SHAFFER in Woodcockboro, Pennsylvania. They had the following children; Lois Estella, Ethel Kerna, Clinton Jay, Besse Pearl, and Gilbert Doidge Phare. Related family names to my PHARE line -- BICKLE (Devon, England and Ontario, Canada) CLARK (PA) DOIDGE (Devon, England) FONGER HELM (Germany and OH) HUBBARD SHAFFER (Woodcock, PA) STEFFEN (Germany and OH) WYCKOFF (NY, NJ, Woodcock, PA) YOUNG Please, any information would be appreciated. |
