| Many members of two Ayrshire families immigrated to Michigan during the 1830's and 1840's. They were the family of John Millikin and Jenette Reid of Craigie by Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Scotland, and several children of John Morton and Ann Wilson of the same village. These families were early settlers of "The Scotch Settlement" in Lapeer and Macomb Counties in Michigan. This web page contains descendancy charts, family histories, and sources for further information on these Michigan pioneers. We hope to connect with Morton and Millikin descendants, to share information and stories. "Not to know what happened before we were born is to remain perpetually a child. For what is the worth of a human life unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors …" (Cicero) |
