It appears that some time during the 1920's, Walter and Wallace parted company. The 1930 census shows Walter as a live-in farm hand on the Fred A Myers farm in Potosi Township, on the opposited of Grant County. From the census records both Fred and his wife Gertrude were about the same age as Walter. They also had a 21 year old son named Carl. Additional note: Oddly, the actual census page once again lists Walter's mother as having been born in Germany.
