3. HOWELL ADAMS "COLEY"2 RAYBURN (THOMAS1) was born 1793 in South Carolina, and died November 26, 1855 in Dallas, Lafayette Co., MS. He married ELIZABETH LOVING in Lafayette Mississippi. She was born May 31, 1802 in South Carolina, and died June 27, 1882 in Anacoco, Vernon Parish, Louisiana; buried Mitchell Cemetery.

Howell A. Raburn was born about 1793 in SC. He was married in Cotton Gin Port, Monroe Co., MS to Elizabeth "Bettylu" Loving who was born in SC on May 31, 1802. She died in Anacoco, Vernon Parish, LA on June 27, 1882 and is buried in Mitchell Cemetery. She migrated to LA with her minor children after her husband died Nov. 26, 1855 in Lafayette Co., MS
Howell A. enlisted for six years in the US Army August 9, 1814 in Tennessee before his brothers migrated to Cotton Gin Port MS. He was in the city of New Orleans when the British were defeated there, and later spent two and one half years fighting Seminole Indians in FL. After his discharge as a corporal on August 8, 1819, he joined his brothers Noah, John, and William and sister Rebecca in Cotton Gin Port. His other known brother Benjamin B. Raburn had migrated to Opolouses LA.
Howell and Elizabeth had 13 children. There were three daughters and two sons who died very young.

In 1850, Howell had 15 acres valued at $30. and farm implements valued at $100. He raised 1500 bushels of corn; no cotton.

He enlisted 18 Aug. 1814 in Tennessee and was discharged 203 days later near Mobile Ala. on Feb. 17 1815. He was awarded 160 acres of Bounty land in Anacoca, Vernon Co., LA. Elizabeth Rayburn Anacoca Co. LA filed for pension on July 16 1872. She was 74 years of age.

MARRIAGE: Rayburn, Howell A. and Loving, Elizabeth m. 25 Sept. 1820, Baptist Church of Christ Monroe County, MS.
