9. NOAH D.³ RAYBURN (JOHN MARION², THOMAS¹) was born 1833 in Mississippi, and died March 1865 in Civil War-Union. He married (1) MARTHA 1848. She was born 1832 in Tennessee. He married (2) SARAH RHEA April 01, 1861.

Note: The census report indicates by "Ditto" that R. Vaughn and Thomas West had surname of Rayburn. However, the age seems to indicate they are not children of Noah & Martha. So their surname may not be Rayburn.

Noah joined the Union army during the Civil War and when he returned home he was murdered in 1865.
Noah's widow Sarah (Rea) Elliott was already a widow of Robert Elliott when she married Noah Rayburn.

10. HOWELL ADAM.³ RAYBURN (NOAH², THOMAS¹) was born September 13, 1818 in Cotton Gin Port, Monroe Co., AL, and died July 11, 1901 in Ballinger, Runnels Co., Tx. He married MARY JANE RAGLAND 1839 in Mississippi. She was born October 02, 1821 in Georgia, and died October 08, 1899 in Mississippi.

Notes for HOWELL ADAM. RAYBURN:
Howell A. served in the Confederate States as a Captain in Co. H, 5th infantry militia and saw service at the battle of Shiloh (Pittsburg Landing) MS.
Howell was named after his Uncle Howell A. Raburn (born SC ca. 1793). The two names are sometimes mixed up in Lafayette Co. history.
Howell A.'s father was Noah Raburn who was born in GA in Sept. 1795 and died in Dallas Co., MS on Aug. 10, 1862. Noah's father was Thomas Raburn and mother was Rebecca Adams. Howell A.'s mother was Elizabeth McSwine who was born in Tn on Feb. 1800 and buried next to her husband, Noah in the Dallas Cemetery in Lafayette Co., MS Howell A. died at the home of his son M.I. Raburn in Ballinger, TX on July 11, 1901. Howell and Mary had 11 children.
