Notes for Judith Butler: The Ancestors on Judith Butlers side are just thought by a fellow genealogist, they are not proven!
"Judith Butler was descended from the Earl of Ormonds of Kilkenny Cawstle. The Butler family is so enormous that research for a particular individual is difficult. There is even a BUTLER society where genealogists try to sort the families out.
Though our Judith BUTLER was of high aristocracy (having Lords, Ladies, Earls and Baronets in the lineage) its impossible to be accurate on the who's and where's. There is evidence though that Judith's brother Pierce came to America.
Of her old home, Ballintemple, the estate consisted of 15 hundred acres bounded on the Slaney River. The pictures of the grounds are gardens are splendid. The beautiful mansion though is in ruins today. Sir Thomas Butler is the current owner.
THE SINGLETON CONNECTION
Thomas SINGLETON from County Wexford, Ireland in 1817 was given lots in or near the future site of Crosby Ontario. His wife Sarah BUTLER (died 1840) was the daughter of an Irish Baronet. They had 3 sons. Their son William about 1835, with his bride made their home on the site of Crosby. Crosby was originally called Singletons Cornors. How Sarah was related to our Judith, i cannot say. But apparently there was a connection."
