Starting out with the basics, in this instance Aherne, Kocsis, Dunscomb(e), Del Beato, Barclay. The Aherne name arrived from the England (presumably from Ireland) in about 1946, but produced only one natural child in the U.S. Dunscomb(e) is reportedly Scottish, but may have a long U.S. history by way of Virginia. Most recently in California by way of a Michigan cluster. Del Beato may be (probably is) a made up name. The original user was from the Castellomare (spelling?) area of Italy, and may have been a priest who came to the U.S. (via New York) in the late 19th of early 20th century and married before coming to California. Barclay is a Scottish name which arrived in the U.S. (N. Dakota) by way of the the maritime provinces of Canada. |
