We are currently researaching our family tree on behalf of our infant daughters. We have individually migrated from the South Pacific and England to New Zealand, and feel it is important for them to know where their roots lie.

Their English ancestry includes the Arnold Family from Surrey & Sussex, the Hunt Family from Motcombe and Bournemouth, in Dorset, the Davies Family from Ynyshir, Rhondda Valley, Wales, and the Stratful Family from Islington, London.

There is a variation to the Stratful surname, being Stratfull. This is one and the same family. An explanation for this name variation can be found on WWW.STRATFULL.CO.UK along with an impressive and extensive study on this family, dating back to the 18th Century. A link to this website, can be found in the Related Links section on this page. Please feel free to visit this site, it is well worth the time.

Their Polynesian ancestry is from the Island of Niue, in the South Pacific. Niue in 1974, became an independant nation in free association with New Zealand. Their Paternal Great-Grandfather, Sir Robert Rex, was the Island's first Premier. Some of the names being researched here are: Rex, Aholima, Kingi, Liuvaie, Nomotu and Kinimotu, all of which have a rich and long heritage with the Island.

Our thanks to our families, near and far, who have made this project worthwhile. Our special thanks to Dave Thorn, who has helped and supplied us with the majority of details pertaining to our mutual Stratfull/Stratful family, and for all the encouragement and research done on our behalf, by him. Also to new found members of our families who have shared their own research so generously.
