This Maurath family line is a decended from Simon Maurath of Baden, Baden, Germany. His date of birth is 1596. His fourth great grandson, Jonas Maurath, age 12, came to the United States with his father Fidelis Maurath.

Jonas settled in Newark, Licking County, Ohio and married Christina Bierly. His youngest son Andrew Louis Maurath moved to Pennsylavania and worked on the railroad between Carnegie and Erie Pennsylavania.

Andrew L. Maurath married a Julia Eleanor King and had three children, Mary Margaret, Gerald, and Julia Kathleen. They settled in Carnegie, PA which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA.

Other names being researched including Maurath, are Parker, Bean, Furry, Bierly, Frank, Dilzer, Hess and Isringhausen.
