My Great Great Grandfather, William Fosdick had changed his name from Fosdick to Foster, after reaching adulthood, We have relatives with both names; Foster and Fosdick. His father,William Fosdick was born April 21, 1762 and died May 6, 1851.His wife was Irena (9/6/1769) the New England area. He had 12 siblings, most of who kept the name Fosdick. He was born in Lansingburg, Ct. Feb. 17, 1787 He married Persha Smith, from Hartford, NY. His son Joel Foster moved to Bureau County, Illinois in 1855 where they raised nine children. Siblings,Betsy Foster (5/6/1813) married a Collins. Sarah Foster (6/17/1820) married a Kender. Edwin Foster (6/5/1831) was reported to be a weathy race horse owner.
The manuscript; THE FOSDICK/FOSTER ANNUALS is completed and has been published. See my website; if you are looking for any further information regarding individuals related to Stephen Fosdick b.1568 to his decendants in 1850. There is documentation of seven generations of Fosdicks that moved from Charlestown to Conneticutt, to Hartford, Governeur and Allegany,New York before settling in midwest Illinois.
