Updated March 17, 2012

I am researching these surnames Hiser, Hedden/Hedding, Seitz, Clothier, Shinneman/Sheneman, Dresser, Albert, Bender, Dodwell, Barnett, Felter, Schooley and Scott. Scott family related to Margaret Scott who was hung as a Salem Witch. Most of these ancestors were in PA and came to Central IL in the 1800's.
Edward J. Dodwell married Mary Ann Brangwin in 1845 in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, England The Dodwell family emigrated from England in 1848 and were in IL on the 1860 Census.
My first Hiser/Heiser ancestor to come to the USA was Johann "Adam" Heiser and he came on the ship "Brothers" in 1751 to the Port of Philadelphia.
My ggrandfather was David Bender Hedden and he enlisted in the Civil War at age 16 and his father brought him home because he was underage and on Christmas day he re-enlisted under the name Hedding and used that name from then on. David Bender Hedden/Hedding's parents were Samuel J. Hedden and Elizabeth Ann Albert. Samuel Hedden's parents were Jedediah Hedden and Mary Bender. Mary's parent's were John Bender and Barbara Koch Bender.
Christopher Shinneman/Shineman was born in OH abt 1813 the son of Isaac Shinneman and Barbary Seifreid.
Simon Seitz was born 1818 in Cumberland Co. PA the son of John Seitz and Elizabeth Kline. He and his family moved to Macon Co., IL in 1854
Recently I have found the Albert name was Alberthal when two brothers came to PA.
I would appreciate any information and be happy to share what I have found.
