This is a labor of love and exploration. I grew up being told by my Grandmother that we were related to Jesse James somehow, so at the age of 28, and as a father of 4, I decided to find out how. Well, haven't found the connection to Jesse yet, but do have ancestors with the same last name and from the same area of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, that Jesse's ancestors came from, but no connection yet. Since beginning this journey I have done genealogical research for in-laws, other relatives, and friends. Of course no one wanted to pay for it, but it kept my mind sharp. So, after almost 20 years of doing this, and the advent of the computer age, I have become pretty good at it. Just wish that I could find someone else in the immediate family that really had an interest in my findings. I can only hope that once I am gone that my grandkids, and those that follow will appreciate the effort and love I have put into this for them sot the will know WHERE THEY COME FROM... |
