Notes for Jerg Waldner: WaJo - Waltner, Gary J compiler, "The Joseph Waltner Family, Tracing the 2nd son of Andreas & Katharina Schrag Waldner of the Bruderhof Raditschewa, Russia 1797-1960" Pine Hill, 1962, 263 p. BCHL 929.2 W172w (Fam W4) Jerg, a Lutheran was living in the 1750s in Carinthia, a province in south central Austria which borders Northern Italy. Because of his refusal to con- vert to Roman Catholicism, he was sent to Transylvania (present day Romania). Jerg worked in a town named Alwintz where a Hutterite Colony existed. The colony had deteriorated because of constant persecution, but Jerg with 12 other Lutherans converted in 1763. They established a new colony at Creutz. |
