I am researching the Albretsen and Freilinghaus family history. The first Albretsen came to the US in the mid 1800's after jumping ship (a Norwegian navy vessel) in Boston Harbor. He is rumored to have lived in the Boston area under the name of Albert before moving to New Jersey in the late 1800's. Owned a millwright business in Passaic, NJ called Albretsen & Sons, and died in 1914-1915. Most of the family history is located around the Newark, NJ area and I am researching Albretsen, Hector, Freilinghaus, Mueller, Boch (Bach?), and Biddel (Biddle?). |
