Our Family ancestry, can be traced back to William Albin and Mary Bruce with son John Albin b. 1774. They are our 5th Great Grandparents. According to the Ancestry World Tree, file number 6671; We have linked our father, Clarence Raymond Albin (1913 - 1971) to the family tree. Here is some history about the Albin name. According to Author: Sharon Taylor, Halbert's Inc, 1982; the Albin surname is a very rare name, which appears to be patronymical in orgin. Associated with the English meaning, "son of Albin". Dictionaries of surnames indicate various spellings, such as; Albin, Albon, Albine, Albons, and Albini. According to a 1880 census some names were soundexed. The Albin surname soundexed is: A 415. Vowls and h's were not coded. They appear only when they were the first letter of the name. The Albin coat of arms is: "The Bend" a principle ordinary. The Sliver (with three diagonal bands of red), is for serenity and nobility. The Red bands is for fortitude and creative power. The diagonal bands is for loyality and splendor. The directory of Albin's begins with those residing in Virginia and ends with those living in Wyoming.
