| This family tree research centers on the families of Modesto Montes Alcalde and Marie Louise Franco, my grandparents on my father's side. It traces these families in both directions and across the Atlantic ocean to Spain and Italy where the families originated. Modesto Montes Alcalde is my grandfather and was born in Aldeire, Spain (near Granada) in 1900. He came to the USA at age nine with his family (Father: Juan, Mother: Carnation or Delores). His sibblings were Carnation, Manual, Delores, Frank, Juan, and one who died young. His father was Juan. His mother's maden name is Montes. Marie Louise Franco is one of 8 children and the first of her sibblings born in the USA (somewhere in Oklahoma). Her sibblings were Luci, Jeanne, John, Cathrine, Margaret, Lorence, Antoinette. Her father (Guiseppe of Santa Anna di Valdiere) and mother (Marie Giordana of Entraque) were from small towns in the French-Italian Alps (as noted) near Cuneo and Limone Italy. In early June of this year (2001) my father, brother, sister (Monte, Vincent, and Lisa) and I will be traveling to France, Italy, and Spain to visit family. I am looking for additional information, and will share all I know as well. |
