Shaking the Aldred /SpeedFamily Tree

Updated September 6, 2000

***
My grandfather, William Aldred, came to this country in 1880 from Leigh, Lancaster, England. Emma Jane Humphreys, his wife and baby Anne came to New York, and settled in Connecticut. My maternal grandfather, Samuel Speed, a sailor, made port in
Portland, Maine, and decided to visit friends from England in Seymour, Connecticut. About 1887. There he met a young Prussian immigrant named Henrietta Wieczorek, fell in love, married her and they raised a dozen kids. The Aldreds' only had nine. But all these kids married into old New England families and that's what I am researching. Cleveland, Minor, Bouton, Beardsley,Keeler, and on and on.
