The Cecil O. Alford Family Home Page

I am researching the names Alford, Edwards, Hewell, and Fitzgerald. The Alfords came from VA to NC to GA. The Edwards appeared in GA in the early 1800s and I do not know where they came from. The Hewells appeared in GA in the early 1800s and I do not know where they came from. The Fitzgeralds came from VA to AL and settled south of Montgomery. William Washington Fitzagerald came from AL to GA and married my grandmother, Mary Etta Edwards, in the town of Gay, Meriwether county, GA in 1905.
My father was born in Fayette county GA and came to Gay, GA in 1910. He married my mother, Mary Will Fitzgerald in 1911.

I am a member of the Alford American Family Association. This organization has 991 members and holds an annual meeting to discuss Alfords in America. AAFA has a very large database of Alfords and their kin and can provide genealogical information to interested persons. AAFA also welcomes information related to Alfords by those outside the organization and invites them to send this info to AAFA and to consider joining AAFA and sharing in our genealogical research.
