I am currently searching for any ancestors of Henry Alfred of New York state, possibly from the Port Byron or Auburn area. I know he shows up on the town of Mentz census for 1880. He was born about 1843 and married a woman named Esther,(no last name available). I would like to know where the Alfred name originated and if there is a Coat of Arms for the name.
