Family of 'Irish' John Alford: Alford Family of Virginias

Looking for descendants of the 'Irish' John Alford family. They originally settled in Rockingham County Virginia; descendants including George Alford and his wife Mary Byrnside were pioneer settlers in Monroe County, West Virginia and later the area of Cabell County, West Virginia that became Lincoln County. Many of their descendants still live in Lincoln, Putnam and Kanawha Counties in West Virginia. One branch lives in Texas.

George Alford's sons Robert 'Robin' Alford, George Washington Alford and Joseph Alford fought for the Confederacy in the War of Southern Secession.
