1853 Sep 13 Monroe County, TN Chancery Court case #523 James Phillips vs John D. Boren and Ja ckson Mitchell. Suit over land is dismissed. Phillips and Boren of Monroe Co., Mitchell now o f Polk Co. is son-in-law of Boren.
1860 Monroe Co TN Census shows John D. Bowering age 61 TN.
1862 Jun 20 John Doss dies in Monroe Co., TN. He is buried in the Boring Family Cemetery.
According to Kerry Ross Boren, John Dorsey Boring was probably named for the Dorsey family , a prominent Maryland line to whom the Borens were apparently related.
Deed Book R Page 401 John Doss's property is distributed. Names surviving childre and daughte rs husbands.
Deed Book R page 47 continues estate settlement.
