I am researching the family of Allens that were located, I believe around the Beaumont, Kirbyville, Texas area. I know that my Grandpas name was Walter Allen and that he married a girl by the name of Carrie Glassock. I'm not sure of the spelling of her last name. Both of these individuals, at some time in their lives traveled with the Ringling Brothers circus.Walter was an assistant to Harry Houdini the great magician. Carrie was a circus performer, and did an act hanging from her teeth from the top of the circus.Walter and Carrie had two sons one was named Al Donnley Allen after Al Ringling and the other was named Harry Boyd Allen after Harry Houdini. These two individuals eventually parted company and became remarried.Walter Allen married a lady by the name of Vivian, but I don,t know her maiden name.Carrie married a man by the name of Evert Hale and lived in Ludlow, Ky. for many years. After the death of Everett, Carrie married a gentleman from Louisana, around Delhi,by the last name of Tucker.Walter and Vivian had a son whose name was I believe Walter C. Allen jr. who became a minister in Texas.There were also some additional relatives around Kirbyville, Texas by the name of Viator. I know her name was Ophelia, and I think his name was Charles but I'm not certain of that. | |
