My research begins with my great grandfathers GEORGE JAMES WRIGHT and JOHN SAWYER FORD G J WRIGHT was a fisherman born in HULL ENGLAND in 1848.Like most fisherman, he liked a drink when he came back in dock and the story goes that my great grandmother JANE became veryupset that the only time she saw George he was much the wear for drink. She finally gave him the ultimatum, give up the drink or she would leave him.Eventuall he did see the errorof his ways and he went out one winters day into a field, went down on his knees and prayed for forgivness. He never drank again and he sold all his possessions and bought bibles which he distrubited amongs the fishermen of Hull.He later became port missioner in Hull and Grimsby untill he died in 1918.At his funeral, many dignitaries gave glowing reports on him and he was commended in several books in Grimsby history My other great grandfather J S FORD was a child cruelty officer although i do not know much about him yet lynda m
