Stephen Allen of Allegany, NY

Stephen Allen was born in Warren Co, NY in 1804. He Married Laura (Lori) Welch. They had two girls, Jane and Rhoda. In 1835 the family moved to Burton (now Allegany), NY. Laura died the next year. Stephen remarried in 1836 to Mary Ann Sheldon, daughter of George Sheldon (1785). They had five sons, Henry, Elmer, George, William, and Eddy. Henry, Elmer and George fought in the Civil War, George was killed. Elmer married Sophia Merkt and of seven offspring, two survived to marry and have children. My Father, Wilfred Allen, and his sister, Florence (Allen) Bockmier.
