| I am researching the following families with the surnames of Rux, Janke, Tetzlaff (Tetzloff), Krueger, ALLEN, Egan, Chase, Wing, Pratt, Rogers, Christensen, Olesen, Mogensen, Johnsen and Mortensen. I have lots of information that I would like to share and I can use any help that any one can give me. Even if in doubt, please contact me. GERMAN -- Great-Great Grandparents -- August Karl Rux (1835 of Debenke, Wirsitz Kreis, Posen, Prussia to 1899 Waseca County, MN)/Rosina Janke (F-John Janke; 1839 Prussia to 1891 Waseca County, MN); Herman Tetzlaff (1826 Prussia to 1896 Waseca County, MN/Wilhelmina Krueger (F-Frantz Krueger; M-Johanna Pomeranke; 1830 Frustenau, Brandenburg, Germany to 1919 Waseca County, MN) AMERICAN -- Great Grandparents -- Charles B. Allen (1825 Maine, jeweler from NY, to 1879 Waseca County, MN)/First wife (name unknown) (B 1842 WI or PA to 1874 Janesville, MN). Their son was Edward Frank Allen (1874 Janesville, MN to 1944 Brainerd, MN) who married Anna Marie Louise Rux (1887 Waseca County, MN to 1977 Brainerd, MN); Charles B. Allen then married "Mattie" (Sarah Mathilda) Swimble and had two more sons before he died in 1879 (Frank L. Allen and Leland Eugene Allen). AMERICAN -- Great-Great Grandparents -- Michael Egan/Mary Hayes (b. Ireland, possibly d. Fayette Co., IA). Their son is John Henry Egan (1835 b. Ireland to 1913 Oran Twp., Fayette County,IA) married Johanna Ellen Egan (1849 New York to 1935 New Hampton, Chickasaw Co., IA), another son is James Egan (b. abt 1832 Ireland) who married Anna Cavanaugh -- Grandfather of the first Governor of Alaska, William Allen Egan. Great-Great Grandparents -- Stephen Rogers (Father: John Rogers, Mother: Mary Adams)(John Roger's parents are Issaac Rogers and Rhoda Chase). Stephen's first wife was Olive Plumb and his second wife was Martha Seatin. Two of their sons were: Orlando Rogers (1854 NY to 1923 Pillager, MN) who married Mathilda Jane Mae Rae (1855 Reynoldsville, PA to 1934 Pillager, MN, Father: Samuel Rae (Son of Joshua Rea and Sarah Meredith)(b. July 25, 1803 Clarion Co., PA to May 29, 1881 Fairbank, IA); Mother: Mary Ann Yeoman (b. feb. 25, 1808 to March 4, 1887 Fairbank, IA)); and Sumner R. Rogers (1859 IA to 1924 Brainerd, MN) who married Jessie L. Matthews (1860 Sumner, IA to 1943 Minneapolis, MN) DANISH -- Great-Grandparents -- Hans Christoffer Christensen (1831 Bjerremark, Denmark to 1918 Hancock County, IA)/ Karen Mogensdatter (1840 Errindlev, Denmark to 1916 Hancock County, IA). This tree is reserached back to the late 1600's; Anton Christian Olesen (b. Bindslev, Jutland, Denmark to abt. 1926 Lendum, Jutland, Denamrk)/Kristine Christensdatter (1852 Denmark to 1923 Geneva, Freeborn county, MN); Louis Henry Johnsen (b. Denmark, d. Freeborn County, MN)/Gina Mortensen (F-Hans Mortensen, b. Isle of Copenhagen, Denmark/d. Freeborn County, MN) Would love to hear from any other descendents from any of these trees. Also have a lot of information about the German (Prussian) families who lived in and around Janesville, Waseca County, MN. Really need help on Charles B. Allen, as I am stumped. Thank You!! |
