I first started doing genealogy in 1970. I remember Mother telling me I would finish.I might spend my life working on it. She was right of course, she usually was!
Mother has been gone for over 11 months now, and in an effort to deal with her unexpected demise, and having also retire just over a year ago, I have devoted most of my time to genealogy. I have been very lucky, and have succeeded in knocking down numerous brick walls I had previously had no hope of ever getting past.

    L-R Walter Henry Scott, William Morgan Scott, Mary Matilda (Emerson) Scott. Boy standing in front William Edward Scott. Taken 1937-1938 in what was Walter Henry Scotts yard. [the old Emerson Home is directly across the road from here] Mary (Emerson) Scott died not long after this photo, the land across the road and on both sides of yard was owned and farmed by the Emersons and later by William Morgan Scott, until just after WW2. He died in 1949.

    Bryce Adam is the son of Crystal, and the grandson of Roland Farrar. Bryce was born September 1, 1999. Check out that head of RED HAIR!!!

    Trebor Scott was born April 12, 1994. He is in preschool this year. He is the son of Crystal, and grandson of Roland Farrar
  • Old William Emerson Home (41 KB)
    The old Emerson Home was a log cabin build by the Emersons sometimes in the mid 1800s. William Morgan Scott stoned over the house in the early 1940s. Thomas A. Emerson was the last Emerson to live in this house. Tom never married and passed the house to William Morgan and Savilla Scott who lived there with him for a number of years until his death.

    Thomas A. Emerson, younger brother of David Emerson,born 1863 in Fayette Co., PA. He was the son of William and Matilda Emerson. He looks very much like my grandfather Thomas 'Tom' Emerson, son of David Emerson. This picture was taken about 1910.
  • Grave of George W. Emerson (66 KB)
    This grave is located in the old Emerston Cemetery, George Washington Emerson was born 1855, Fayette Co., PA, died 1891 Fayette Co., PA. He was the son of William and Matilda Emerson, a younger brother to my great grandfather David Emerson.
  • EMERSON CEMETERY (250 KB)
    Most of the stones in the Emerson Cemetery are marked only with a rough hand carved cross. It can only be presumed that William and Matilda Emerson are buried here as family traditon says that all the Emersons and Scotts were buried here.
  • Mary Matilda (Emerson) & Walter Scott (237 KB)
    Head Stone in Emerson Cemetery, of Mary Matilda Emerson,1860-1938, daughter of William and Matilda Emerson, sister to my great grandfather David Emerson. She married Walter Scott, he died 1885.
