David Altaner family home page

Looking for the Altaner family, which came from the Harz mountain area in Germany. My father came to the US at the age of five in 1929. We haven't yet figured out whether he was born in Harzgerode or Harkerode. My grandmother's name was Heine. My father's father may have been illigitimate, thus we hit a dead end as we go back. But his mother might have been polish.
