The William Graves Altorfer Family Home Page

My major family surnames are Altorfer, Fairbanks, Graves, Bigelow, White, Warren, Thierry, and Grandbouche.I am looking for any information on my immigrant ancestor; John Jacob(Jakob) Altorfer. He is on the 1880 census in a town just West of Toledo, Ohio. My grandfather, William Henry Altorfer, was one of 11 childern, married Anna Emilie Thierry. John Jacob served in the Civil was in the 14th Ohio Regt. and received a pension after the war. I have found he was born in Switzerland, but exact location is unknown or when he immigrated to the US.Any Help would be appreciated. I am willing to share any information I have with anyone else doing research on any of my family lines.
