2. Alexis² Alvis (William¹)⁷ was born Abt. 1836 in Augusta Co., Virginia ⁸, and died Bef. 1871 in Greenbrier Co., West Virginia (?)⁹. He married Willie Ann King¹⁰ October 14, 1858 in Greenbrier Co., West Virginia ¹¹.

Notes for Alexis Alvis:
Clownie's daughter Lora records in her Bible that her Grandfather was William Alexis Alvis. I do not know for certain that she is correct, as all other witnesses have simply Alexis. She may have been mistaken and confused her Grandfather's name with that of her brother, while he may have been named after both his Grandfather and Great-grandfather. I do not have possession of the Bible, the data was sent to me by Jean, her daughter, so I can not further a guess as to the date of the Bible entry. If it was very late in life, she may be more likely to have confused the names, though this still seems unlikely. I am inclined to treat the entry as true.

4. Nancy Ann² Alvis (William¹) was born Abt. 1840 in Augusta Co., Virginia ¹³. She married William Lewis Roach¹⁴ November 15, 1860 in Greenbrier Co., West Virginia ¹⁵.

Children of Nancy Alvis and William Roach are:

	10	i.		Alcestra³ Roach ¹⁶, born Abt. 1865¹⁶.
	11	ii.		Charles H. Roach¹⁶, born Abt. 1868¹⁶.
