LDS Church (2001) AFN: FLC8-XQ--Birth: 1778 AFN: 4WM0-VF--Birth: 1 Jan 1792, Jonesboro, Washington, Tennessee Bill LINDER (2001) Larkin family history According to Margaret Smith, in a letter from the late Pauline Gandrud in 1970 conc erning the 1809 Madison County census, Ms. Gandrud said: "The house before Solomon Massengale was Alfred Massengale (his son) and next to him was Isaac Rogers. John Massengale (son of Solomon) married Jane Rogers in 1810. John Massengale is in Shelby County by 1830 and so is an Isaac Rogers, though not living near each other. This Isaac’s age is 60/70 (1770-80)." [Margaret Smith] Jane Rogers and John Massengale were married in Madison County on 10 Dec 1810. Joh n Massengale was enumerated on line 256, So. Dist., Shelby Co., AL, in 1830. John Massengale was in Autauga Co., AL, in 1840 and 1850. Larkin Rogers’ possible son Joseph Byrd Rogers was also in Autauga County for a number of years. Autauga County had been formed by 1830 and was just below Shelby County.
