"WORKMAN FALLS 120 FEET TO HIS DEATH

Falling a distance of 120 feet from the top of one of the 150-foot stacks at the Hartje Bros. paper mill at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Bernard Barry, a resident of near Alikanna, was almost instantly killed. He died on the way to the Ohio Valley hospital. The remains were removed to the morgue.

Barry was engaged in erecting a new stack. He was working on a scaffold a short distance from the top of the stack when the scaffold broke. The entire scaffold and Barry descended through the air at frightful speed. Barry fell on the wrecked scaffolding on a roof 120 feet below. He was crushed. The officials of the Hartje plant are investigating the accident and declared late Saturday afternoon that the cause of the scaffolding falling has not yet been determined.
