| Searching for information on the Amsel's has been very difficult, as my grandfather was from Austria, and none of my grandfathers's children are alive. My grandmother Mary O.(Smith) Amsel orgiinated from Georgia and has some Cherokee Indian roots. Story has it, that her Cherokee ancestors were told they needed to select a last name, and chose "Smith" making research on her very hard. My hope in creating this web site is that someone will see it and have information that would help me. Enjoy what information I do have, who knows what you might find.
