I have just started researching my family tree. There is a mystery in our family that I hope someone can help me solve.My grandfather was MILTON CLARENCE ANDREWS SR. His father was MYRON STANELY ANDREWS. Myron had a brother CHARLIE MCCARTY and a step-brother JIMMY MCCARTY. Myron's name was MCCARTY too. We were never told what happened between Myron's parents. We don't know what happened to Myron's father. . His brother Charlie kept Jimmy and Myron apart. When Jimmy would come to town, Charlie told Jimmy that Myron was out of town on the railroad. Which wasn't true. When Myron married CLARA WILHIMENA LUDEMAN, he asked her which last name she wanted to be married as, ANDREWS or MCCARTY. She settled for ANDREWS because that was what she knew Myron as. When Myron died, Charlie came and told Clara that Myron had a step-brother named Jimmy.Clara never knew the secret either. Myron was born in DIAMONDALE, MICHIGAN. Other links are LANSING and MILAN MICHIGAN. The only person who knew the secret, died before telling my grandfather the truth.
