At this time I am primarily searching for ancestors on my father's side. The names I have collected so far are: Shaw, Mellington, Bond, Davis, Swan, Smith, Loveland, Stevens, Trowbridge. Also, I am looking for any connections to the Vondra and Rejda surnames. This is my first attempt at creating a home page so please excuse the crudeness. Generation 1 John SHAW was born about 1780 maybe in Conneticut and died 25 Sep 1852 in Paris Twsp, Portage Co. Ohio. He married ANN STEVENS in Boardman, Trumbull Co. Ohio on 24 Mar 1801. ANN STEVENS is the daughter of JOHN STEVENS & EVE BITZER. She was born 11 Apr 1781 in Loudon Co. Virginia and died in 1855 in Portage Co. Ohio. Their children were: ANN CATHERINE b. 11 Sep 1804 in Palmyra, Portage Co. Ohio, died 12 Oct 1828. She married Wheeler Trowbridge (?) in 1819. JOHN SHAW, Jr. b. 12 July 1806 in Trumbull Co. Ohio and died 10 July, 1856 in Defiance Co. Ohio. He married LAURA CATHERINE COX on 6 Jan 1833 in Portage Co. Ohio. EVA MIRINDA b. 1811, died 23 Mar 1864. She married JOHN MCDANIEL on 3 Aug 1835 GENERATION 2 Children of JOHN SHAW, JR. & LAURA CATHERINE COX HARRISON b. 9 Dec 1835 in Portage Co. OHIO d. 16 Nov 1893 in Montgomery Co. Kansas married PHOEBE JANE LOVELAND on 19 May 1858 in Defiance Co. Ohio HARRIET b. 5 Jul 1838 in Portage Co. Ohio d. 24 Nov 1860 in Defiance Ohio. She married Jeramiah Simmers on 13 Apr 1856 and looks like later on Lester Preston. WARREN b. 4 Oct 1840 in Portage Co. Ohio d. 1 May 1921 in Independence Kansas. Warren married ANNA ELIZA DAVIS on 22 Dec 1865 in DeKalb Co. Indiana. ANNA ELIZA DAVIS b. 24 Apr 1842 in Crawford Co. Ohio Daughter of John Davis of Virginia and Jane (?) of Pennsylvania. Anna died 02 Nov 1911 in Independence, Kansas but was buried in Omaha, Nebraska. LAURA ANN b. 8 Jun 1844 in Paris Twsp, Portage Co. Ohio and died 5 Jan 1915 in Abbotsford, Wisconsin. She married PERRY SWAN son of John Swan & Catherine Reed. WALLACE b. 6 Jul 1846 in Portage Co. Ohio, and d. 8 Feb 1908 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He married ANGELINE SMITH 27 Dec 1867 in Defiance Co. Ohio. JOHN JEFFERSON b. 23 Sep 1848 in Ravanna, Portage Co. Ohio to be continued........ (last updated 25 Jan 1999)
