Looking for information for the following names:Foust - meaning "Fist" in German. Decendant given a land grant by King George of England to settle in Alamance County, North Carolina. Thomas Howell Foust resides on part of the original land today located in Graham, NC. Julius Foust, an uncle, was President of Womens College, (now UNC-Greensboro) in 1930's & 1940's. His brother Thomas was State Superintendent of Schools in North Carolina for many years.Iseley - meaining "Iron" in German. Malachi Iseley was first to settle in North Carolina coming from Germany in the 1700's. He is buried in Lutheran Church located in Alamance, Alamance County, NC. The original spelling may have been, Eiseley. Many decendants remain in North Carolina today. Several moved out West in the 1800's. Martin or McDonald - Scottish immigrants fleeing persecution during revolution between Scotland and England and settled in Moore County, NC. Flora McDonald was a decendant. She later founded Flora McDonald College in Red Springs, North Carolina. Great Grandmother owned large farm, store and grist mill near Eagle Springs, NC.
