Charles and Madell Anderson of Princeton,Texas

Hi! We've recently retired from a long career in industry, and now have some time to devote to our family tree. What a challenge!

My wife has much of her family tree complete back to around 1600, but I'm just starting. I have sketchy information that my Andersons came down through Tenneessee, into Arkansas, and settled in Texas. I'm currently looking for information on my great grandfather, W.J.Anderson. All I know about him is that he was a chaplain in the Confederate Army, maybe serving in Arkansas, and eventually settled in Texas.

I have other relatives on my mother's side who were Cottles. I had a distant Uncle, George Washington Cottle who fought in the battle of the Alamo.
I have more data on my Cottle ancestry than on the Andersons, but
all of this has whetted my interest in getting it all done.

We live on some acreage outside of a small town of Princeton, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas, and are enjoying our retirement!
