| We are searching for any and all information we can find on the Wells and Mary Andrews family which lived in Mahaska County, Iowa in the early 1800's, and the Absalom and Abigail (Holt) Johnston family which settled in Linn County, Iowa around 1850. Wells was born 1/26/1794 in Steuben County, NY and Mary was probably born in Pennsylvania (unknown date or surname). Absalom was born 11/15/1805 in Pennsylvania and Abigail (Holt) was born 8/6/1806 in that same state. Most of our immediate ancestors were from the southeast Iowa counties of Keokuk, Iowa and Mahaska and included family names, in addition to Andrews and Johnston, of Dersch, Wagner, Van Dee (including VanDee Kerkove), Bair, Bennett, Lisk, Tibbets, Moore, Mincer, Payton, Simpkins, Mendenhall and others. We have a fairly extensive Family Tree Maker file of over 20,000 names that we will be glad to share with any of our relatives, no matter how distant!!
